Inchcape Publishes First Sustainability Report, Highlighting Impact of Americas

Inchcape, a global leader in automotive distribution, has published its first Sustainability Report, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to sustainable growth. This report highlights the progress made by 2023 and the crucial role of all regions, including the Americas, in the transition to sustainable mobility.

The report details the progress achieved, aligned with the four pillars of its Responsible Business framework: Planet, People, Places and Practices. In the Americas region, these efforts have had a notable and tangible impact, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and responsibility.

Planet

In 2023, Inchcape achieved a 6.6% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions, a significant contribution towards the global target of a 46% reduction by 2030 and achieving net zero emissions by 2040. We implemented 25 carbon reduction projects, including the installation of solar panels at more than 40 sites, and recycled more than 1,200 tons of waste, including tires, batteries and oils. These actions underscore our commitment to energy efficiency and the circular economy.

People

We have invested significantly in talent development. Globally, more than 800 people enrolled in the Early Careers program and more than 100 women graduated from the Women into Leadership program. In addition, in the region we initiated a project to change more than 300 elevators in the region, ensuring that they meet HSE standards and consume less electricity.

Locations

In Peru, we established an alliance with Juguete Pendiente for visits to schools in vulnerable sectors, benefiting 250 children. In Chile, we collaborated with the DUOC institute for a dual learning program that has benefited 70 students, and in Colombia, the Movilizando Corazones program benefited 58 people thanks to the creation of more than 150 prostheses from automotive scrap.
