Inchcape Sells Alternative Parts and Accessories Businesses to Grupo Jedimar
This month Inchcape has agreed the sale of retail and wholesale alternative parts businesses in Chile, to Group Jedimar. The sale includes Autoplanet, Agroplanet, and wholesale aftermarket operations, as well as proprietary brands like Lubritek, DGP, and Motorlife.
As the world’s leading automotive distributor, Inchcape has experienced strong growth in Chile and throughout its Latin American markets. In Chile specifically, Inchcape partners with 24 automotive brands, offering products ranging from entry-level to premium cars. To further its strategy, Inchcape is consolidating its pureplay distribution offer, which has led to this transaction.
Grupo Jedimar, with a heritage stretching over 75 years and a strong portfolio of companies in mobility and transportation, is a great fit for the businesses that are a part of this transaction to move forward from.
This sale is a tribute to the hard work of colleagues from the companies that are moving to Grupo Jedimar.
Cristian Sierra, MD of Inchcape Chile said:
“We see this sale as a success for everyone involved and another step towards consolidating our leadership position in automotive distribution and services in Chile and the region.
“We will continue in the parts business, but with a focus on original parts from the brands we represent in Chile, to offer our customers the best service throughout the life cycle of their vehicle.”.
This transaction is expected to complete in the coming weeks, following successful completion of regulatory processes.
