Inchcape’s ‘Liter of Light’ contribution in the Philippines
With a commitment to making a positive contribution to the communities it operates in, Inchcape is proud to have worked on an initiative to bring solar lights to energy-deprived communities in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. Using the ‘Liter of Light‘ concept, our team have been working in the Province of Rizal, Philippines to provide sustainable solar light to underserved communities in the area.
As part of this initiative, colleagues from Inchcape Philippines invested their expertise and time to build solar lights out of available materials, like recycled plastic bottles. These lights support the community by enabling them to illuminate their homes, businesses and streets, positively impacting their lives, creating a safer environment and allowing for greater economic opportunities.
Through this programme, solar lights were donated to 150 households, enhancing the lives of 600 people.
Alex Hammett, Inchcape’s MD for South Asia Pacific said:
“Social mobility is a priority for Inchcape and projects like ‘Liter of Light’ help us to achieve this mission. With the collaboration of our colleagues from Inchcape Philippines, this inspiring initiative provides light to underserved local communities, positively impacting lives and bringing greater economic opportunities.”
